BIS News Update: Monday 24th November 2014

Clear blue skies and bright sunshine provided an ideal back drop for this
year's Inter House Sports held last Saturday. We were delighted by the turn
out of a large group of very enthusiastic parents who cheered on the various
athletes.

Students took part in a variety of athletic and field events, a full list of
winners can be found attached, all showing great enthusiasm and no little
determination when completing some of the longer races on a very warm day.
Our congratulations go to all who took part and special congratulations to
Sapphire this year's Champion House.

Those present on Sports Day will have noticed the enthusiasm of our Parent
Teacher Association in advertising the Food Fest that will take place on
Saturday 6th December. A wide variety of international foods will be on
sale alongside a series of very popular games for all ages. As part of this
event raffle tickets are on sale offering you the chance of winning some
very valuable prizes including various airline tickets. It promises to be a
great day out for all the family with all proceeds going towards the
development of school facilities. A priority being the upgrading of the
theatre facilities in New Horizons.

Next week, starting Monday December 1st, we will be holding school
examinations the timetable for which will be published to all students early
this week. The exams will be held over a period of five days ending on
Friday December 5th.

The last week of term will be a busy one in school with teachers completing
their marking and writing reports. During the week we will be having a
number of special events to mark the end of term and festive season. Due to
the late start to the school year we are not having a major performance this
year. However our Performing Arts Department will be putting on a
presentation of drama and music on Wednesday 10th December at 6:00 pm in New
Horizons to which all are invited.

Very importantly during the last week of term students will have the
opportunity to go over their examination papers to review their performance.
In building towards success at IGCSE level the review of examination papers
is a very important part of the process.

School will close at 12:30 pm on Friday 12th December after the issuing of
reports to parents. Teachers will be available to meet with parents to
discuss the exam results between 8:00 am and 12:30 pm on the 12th.

Kind regards
