BIS Final reminders for Donosti Cup and CMI training

Final Reminders.

1. Donosti Cup.

As you are aware the school is hoping to send teams to this year's Donosti Cup in Spain.  Currently we are reconsidering our participation in this event due to the lack of response from the student body. Put simply we do not have enough committed players to warrant our entry. Should the number of students taking part not increase by the end of this week, Friday 21 February 2014 our application to take part may have to be withdrawn. We are reluctant to take such a step as we want to provide BIS students with as many opportunities as possible. Should any parents wish their son/daughter to take part in this exciting tournament please contact the Head of PE, Mr Van Dijck, as soon as possible.

2. CMI First Steps in Leadership Award. A first professional qualification for young leaders.

We are still hoping to bring a CMI trainer from the UK to work with Year 11 students after the completion of their IGCSE Examinations. Students successfully completing this course will be registered with the Chartered Management Institute and receive a qualification that is normally only available in the first years of work.  The anticipated cost of the course is GBP500 , lasting 4 days, including registration and certification and the cost of tuition from a registered CMI trainer.
Our ability to run this course depends upon the number of students who take up the option and thus its financial viability. If you have not already done so and you wish your son/daughter to take part in this course or require more information please contact the Principal as soon as possible.
