Dear Parents and Guardians,
Herewith our newsletter for the coming week.
Continued Sporting Success for BIS
Our sports day held last Friday and it was a very enjoyable and successful event. There was a real buzz of excitement around the track and a big thank you is due to everyone who came along to support our students. Congratulations to Ruby, our winning house, and also to all students, teachers and parents who took part. Thanks are also due to Ms Nnamani and our PE staff for organising the day so well and to our house leaders for their encouragement and enthusiasm.
On Saturday our swimming team travelled the long distance to Atlantic Hall. Some twenty four students took part in a gala there and BIS came third out of ten competing schools. We are very proud of the team and look forward to continued success in the AISEN gala to be held at Grange this coming Saturday.
Our footballers travelled to the mainland on Saturday and took part in a league competition there. We are delighted to announce that they played very well and reached first place.
Once again my apologies for the error in the dates for our internal examinations published in last week's letter. Once again I confirm that examinations for students in Years 7 to 10 will begin on Monday 28th November. These should be the primary focus for students in these year groups and extra revision must take place on top of routine homework.
University Visits Today and Tomorrow
Please note that representatives of the following universities will be in the Library at 2.45 today:
- Trinity College, Dublin
- University of Cardiff
- University of Nottingham
Tomorrow we look forward to welcoming NCUK, our foundation partners and Manchester Metropolitan University at the same time and in the same location.
PTA Fun Day
A reminder that this will take place on Saturday 3rd December. Please give our PTA Executive Committee every support with this key event as they prepare for it.
Refurbishment of New Horizons
The floor of New Horizons is currently being sanded and polished. This will make a huge difference to the building.
We were delighted to use the new sound system in New Horizons for the sports day awards last Friday. It is high quality equipment and huge thanks are due to the PTA, who donated it to the school through funds raised last year.
With best wishes for the week ahead,
Howard Bullock. Principal.
