BIS Principal's Newsletter 25th January 2016

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am pleased to report that our first and second set of entrance examinations of the year went very well over the previous two Saturdays. The first examination was for those prospective students wishing to be considered for our prestigious scholarship award. The results revealed some very talented young people indeed which bodes well for the future.

A reminder to everyone that we will be holding the final examination on Saturday March 12th.

Year 11 Parent Teacher Conferences - Friday 29th January 2016 - 2.35- 4pm
We would like to welcome Parents of Year 11 students to attend the Parent Teacher Conference to discuss their performance in the recent Mock examinations.

Traffic Flow on Campus
We hope that the arrangement for the end of day exit through the rear gate, which was introduced in November, has made life easier for departing students and their families. However, there have been occasions on which drivers on campus have been driving too quickly and without the care that we would want to see. We would like to take this opportunity to remind all those who bring vehicles onto the campus that personal safety is paramount and that at the end of the day our students are on foot as they prepare for departure or their co-curricular activities. Therefore careful and courteous driving is essential at all times.

In this connection we are currently reviewing our waiting and exit procedures and we will also be painting some zebra crossings at strategic points around the school site.

Students' Health Forum
Our PTA members have organised a health forum for all students next Wednesday afternoon. This promises to be an interesting and informative afternoon with a number of leading health practitioners from Lagos in attendance. We will report further on this in next week's letter.

Birthday Cakes
We would like to remind all families that it is not the school's policy to receive and distribute birthday cakes during the school day.

With best wishes for a pleasant week,

Howard Bullock
