As you are aware your sons/daughters are coming to the end of their formal lessons at BIS prior to sitting their IGCSE examinations in the next month or so. As with previous generations of students there is a temptation for some to stay at home to 'revise'. However I cannot stress enough the importance of students being in school for this last week or so, much of this time is spent looking at examination techniques and skills which are critical if we are to ensure students perform at the highest possible level. I would therefore ask you to ensure that all Year 11 students make best use of the resources at school prior to their Completion Ceremony next Thursday.
Following the Completion Ceremony teachers will be in school and students are most welcome to make individual arrangements to meet them should they require any further help or support. All teachers at BIS are fully committed to ensuring your children achieve the highest grades possible and are more than willing to help, they are a resource to be used to the full.
Our Year 11 Completion Ceremony will take place on Thursday 30th April in New Horizons. The ceremony will start at 1:00pm and we anticipate it will last just over an hour to be followed by a reception with light refreshments for Year 11 students and their parents.
We look forward to seeing as many Year 11 parents as possible in school next week on what will be their last formal school function.
Please note: All Year 11 students will be on study leave from 4th May 2015.
With all best wishes
