Procedure for Admissions

Thank you very much for the enquiry regarding the British International School.

We look at two factors when placing students at BIS, age and the number of years of education.  Applicants for Year 7 must be at least 11 years old during the calendar year they wish to join and to have completed 6 years of primary education.

The Admission process to BIS is as follows:

Step 1: Complete the application

All applicants must submit the following information and payment in order to complete an application for admission to BIS.

1.     A completed application form with one passport photo attached
2.     A copy of the applicant's birth certificate
3.     A copy of the applicant's last school report
4.     The payment of the 25,000 Naira Application fee

Note: The Registrar's Office will not accept an incomplete application. All the application documents are required before the application can proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Assessment

All applicants to BIS must complete an entrance exam.
Students applying for Year 7-9 are assessed in English, Maths and Verbal reasoning
Students applying for Year 10 are assessed in English and Maths.
Students are required to sit the entrance examinations at BIS.

Step 3: Admission Decision

The decision to admit students to BIS is based on the results of the entrance exams and previous academic achievements, with the final decision made by the Principal. Candidates may be invited for interview with the Principal to support their application.  The final admission decision will be conveyed to the parents, by the Registrar's Office, as soon as possible.

Step 4: Once you are admitted...

To secure a place at BIS parents are requested to submit the acceptance form and the acceptance fee.
