The Kabiyesi Scholarship is a scholarship awarded in recognition of the contribution made to the development of Education in Nigeria by HRM OBA Idowa Abiodun Oniru, Akiogun II J.P.
Open to: Students who have successfully completed six years of recognised primary education and attending BIS recognised feeder schools. Applications from students not attending BIS recognised feeder schools may apply providing they have completed six years of primary education and their application is supported by a reference from a prominent member of the community; Pastor, Doctor, Lawyer etc.
Value: The scholarship will cover Tuition Fees while the student remains at BIS and continues to meet the scholarship criteria below. Please note this does NOT cover School Development Levy and other related fees, such as uniform and books.
Award: This scholarship will be awarded based on the result of competitive entrance examinations and an interview with the Principal. The Principal's decision on the award of the Kabiyesi Scholarship is final.
Criteria for Retention of Scholarship:
The student remains at BIS.
The student maintains an exemplary behaviour and disciplinary record. Removal of the scholarship in cases of inappropriate behaviour will be determined by a committee made up of the Principal and members of the Education Committee.
The student must maintain an average top set grade across all subject areas in school examinations. Removal of the scholarship on academic grounds will be based on this criterion and any recommendations of the school's academic staff the final decision resting with the Principal.
